Forty feet of water, twice a day
The Bay of Fundy moves more water on every tide than all the world's freshwater rivers combined. At Spencers Island that means the shoreline you walk at low water is under ten metres of ocean six hours later.
It is why the fat bike tour rides on the sea floor and the boat tours need water at the wharf — and why a tour operator here cannot simply publish a 9 AM departure and leave it at that.
